How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 1–2 weeks ahead for cuts and blowdries, and 2–3 weeks for colour services. For balayage or special occasion hair, 3–4 weeks is ideal — especially on weekends.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. All new clients are welcome to a complimentary 30-minute consultation before committing to a colour or extension service. This gives us a chance to assess your hair and discuss what's realistic for your hair type and budget.
What should I bring or prepare?
Reference photos are always helpful — screenshots from Instagram, Pinterest, or our own gallery work great. If you've had a colour treatment elsewhere recently, let us know what was used. Arriving with clean, dry hair is fine for most appointments.
What's your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a charge of 50% of the service cost. We understand things come up — just give us a call as soon as you can.
Do you cater to all hair types and textures?
Absolutely. Amara specialises in textured, afro, and natural hair. Our team collectively has experience with all hair types — fine, thick, coily, chemically treated, and everything in between. If you have specific concerns, mention them when booking.
What products do you use in the salon?
We work exclusively with professional-grade products: Wella Professionals, L'Oréal Professionnel, Olaplex, Kérastase, and Great Lengths for extensions. We can recommend take-home products to maintain your results between appointments.
